V-Flyer was established in February 2003 as an independent guide for customers of Virgin Atlantic. Offering visitors in depth information on every aspect of their flight, from route planning to seat selection, frequent flyer point strategies to airport lounge reviews. Every aspect has been covered; and if it hasn't yet it will be soon. We've even been known to offer advice on how to pack your wedding dress! V-Flyer has featured in Virgin Atlantic's own online customer newsletter, iFly, and is used by Virgin Atlantic staff worldwide as a handy reference guide.

V-Flyer offers a unique opportunity. Only Virgin Atlantic's own website puts you in front of more Virgin Atlantic customers - but they don't accept advertising. V-Flyer offers highly targeted sponsorship opportunities at attractive rates. Our rates are low because our running costs are low. We offer CPM rates for focused traffic lower than other sites offer their untargeted R.O.S. campaigns.

The results below are taken from a combination of our annual surveys, as part of the V-Flyer Awards, raw web logs and the data provided by Google Analytics. Comparing the results below from 2008 (our fifth birthday) with data collected in 2005, the noticable trend is that visitors are getting older, the percentage of women using V-Flyer has doubled, we're reaching far more countries (156 per month on average) with deeper penetration into the USA (US visits up to 24% of our user base from 14% in 2005). Our visitors are loyal (over 50% hold a Silver or Gold level Flying Club card) and prefer to fly in the premium cabins (over 75% regularly fly in either Premium Economy or Upper Class). V-Flyer's embrace technology; 97% of our visitors come to the site via a broadband connection, 96% have a screen resolution of 1024x768 or greater and 99.52% support Java.

V-Flyer regularly serves up pages to over 100,000 visitors per month, who notch up over 3 million page views and over 8.5 million hits. 66% of our traffic is direct, 5% referrals and the rest from search engines (25.8% of which is generated by Google). Google Analytics' Benchmarking rates us our traffic at over 800% higher than average for air travel sites of similar size. Our bounce rate is also 30% less than comparable sites, and our pageviews are a staggering 1,850% better than average.
