Having just stocked up on a crazy amount of shampoo, and still getting through the last miles bonanza of Tesco's Olive Spread. Thought i'd ask if anyone has an even more silly way of gettign miles -
These 2 examples are my latest drive for clubcard points and BA miles but i've been nearly as ruthless trying to get Virgin miles in the past!! Just as a side point, the shampoo was taking advantage of a mistake made by my local Tescos leading to me getting a wad of BA miles at 0.7 pence each - Bargain!!

This sort of thing used to be a regular topic a while back. Jaguarpig used to be the font of knowledge with regards to this sort of thing at Tesco for BA, but true miles whore bargains don't seem to be as common these days.

| I am certainly a miles bargain whore!! Having worked out that the latest deal would allow 25k (the amount required for a US upgrade to Club) to be collected for only £170 in shampoo.. Clearly my friends all think i'm crazy but it's a deal in my eyes! |

Tesco in the last couple of months have had some decent CC point offers on things that we actually consume ie ready meals, wine and Champagne.They had some no brand Fizz that was really rather good, £26.99 plus 800 extra CC points.On my rate of transfer that's 2643 BA miles,standard rate 1982 BA miles.Quite a cheap way of buying BA miles and a bottle of drinkable fizz. I'm still kicking myself for not emptying the shelf.This should be the best 1/4 for Tesco CC points in a few years. |

Was reading the FT forum post on this recently, seems there was a good offer on Krug recently too  .
Of course, we have Virgin Wines, and e.g. Wine Hound in the new shopping page (8 miles per #) - but nothing like what Tesco and BA offer! |

The Shampoo was £3.26 each with 200 clubcard points (480 BA miles). That's the best i've seen so far by a long way..
Offers on Krug.. Now were talking!!!!
Anything under a penny a mile is a bargain as you effectively get a world traveler plus upgrade to club for <£250. |

Mrs JP has just stocked up on a shed load of the Shampoo not quite as good an offer as it first seems. Its actually 200 extra points per 2 bottles but still not bad and even better if your Tesco cocked up and had it programmed as 200 per bottle.Works out about the same as the Fizz,but don't think it will drink so wellThanks for the heads up Liam |

| Just a heads up at Tesco,Leopards Leap white and red wine with 100 extra points, £4.99 a bottle its tolerable the red is better than the white don't know which gave me a thick head last night. |

In our local paper a couple of months ago there was an article on a couple who had financed their first class honeymoon through collecting rubbish around Petersfield.
Basically the Petersfield Tesco was running a trial (also done at Horsham Tesco) where by when one recycled their cans, wine bottles etc, you inserted your clubcard into a slot on the side of the high tech bottle bank. This gave you 'green' clubcard points. The couple then converted these to BA miles. The article stated that they spent 8 months diving into the undergrowth in Petersfield looking for rubbish that could be recycled and taking it along to their Tesco! Petersfield Council were reportedly rather happy that their streets were being cleaned by members of the public and Tesco were very enthuiastic about the couples plan (presumably realising it would up their 'green' profile).
I am not sure if the trial has been extended to all Tesco stores but thought it was a rather interesting take on collecting airmiles! |
