They're still there, but by no means as cheap as they were a year ago, due to (1) the fall in the £ against the € and the $ following the Brexit vote and (2) the IAG takeover of Aer Lingus which means BA no longer has to compete on ex-DUB fares. And therefore neither does VS.

there is no 'demise'

ex-eu flights have always been departure airport dependent. DUB has been popular but it moves around various airports.

But it is also route dependent. If it's on an ex LGW in UC there are only 14 seats on he 747 so if VS can sell them for top whack from LGW then they won't offer them for cheap from DUB etc

You can still get some flights to the US for £1200 ex dublin, or did a few weeks ago. Manchester to San Antonia seems to be discounted on BA at the moment, so VS might offer a similar type of "somewhere close" version, Manchester to Boston.

It's more than the currency, there's not been a decent Hawaii BA sale for over a year now. Perhaps Aer lingus was the problem, though I think United is the major competitor which drives ex EU sales.
