Hi All,

Tomorrow is our -331 day date to book our outbound flight. The flight is to be on the 787 and will be in UC.

Whats everyones recommendation of seat preference for 787 UC & why?

2 seats (one for each of us)

Thanks a lot - in advance.

If it were me, i'd choose 1A. Because if my Ego was a seat, it would be 1A.

Truth be told, all the A seats are good IMO. If you want to be off first, then 10A and 11A would be good.

In an ideal world I'd think I'd love to go for 1&2A as they seem to be a little more private and secluded - but being off first really appeals to me, as it's a dog eat dog world, and I want to be straight in that line for a good car!

Decisions.....

That's a very good point! I am one for 'people watching'. Do you have a reason then why you wouldn't go for 11A?

For what it's worth there won't be much people watching from the A side due to the partition! :) Last time I was in UC on the 787 I went in 10K.

I think I'd shy away from 11A because it can be seen from the bar and would feel a bit open (if the seat map is anything to go by).

This is the view from 10K if you're interested:

I like the middle of the 'A' row; you get the privacy and reduced traffic of not having people opposite you and being in the middle of the row means you're far enough away from the bar to avoid noise but still one of the first off on landing.

My first 787 trip is not until November and have booked 5A & 6A. Prefer to be seated mid-cabin, so away from the galley, toilets and bar.

Rows 5 or 6 are also my preferred on a A330 for the same reasons.

With a 1-1-1 configuration, 'A' seats are more private because of the wall/partition separating the 'G' and 'K' seats. However, some couples prefer the 'G' and 'K' seats because you can face each other. We, as 'oldies', don't mind sitting in front and behind each other!!! ;-)

We're only 25, but we're respectful 25 'youngsters'. Not the kind that are loud or annoying as are some, but we're happy with the quieter setting and more than happy with our own little space, knowing that one another is just a small wall apart from each other - So that said, the middle of A's is a good shout. Quiet due to the divide and away from the bar, but still close enough to make a quick escape! **frantically pulls up seat maps to get a final look over before booking opens**

Thanks both! :D

Depends on the flight. If it's a night-time flight such as JNB, HKG or DXB etc., then you will find 1 & 2 A noisy from the cabin crew chatting. My niece found that. My preferences are rows 4&5

I’ve selected 4A and 5A both ways to LA in a few weeks for the same reasons as above.

Will be my first time in UC too.

My return was meant to be on a A346 so I originally had K selected. Noticed the swap and managed to get back to the A side on the 787
