Morning All,

Arrived into a very quiet T2 this morning from West Yorkshire and through the priority lane with ease. Just one family ahead of me who were travelling with a little one for the first time to the Canary Islands. Good luck to them :D

I'm heading to JFK for a long weekend on the very busy VS127. The check in team were lovely as always, offered to escort me to the lounge (which I always decline but a lovely gesture all the same) and now comfortable in the smaller of the two escape lounges. This one is for the VS127 and VS75 only (well the only two VS flights today)

First day of the new in-house catering team, new uniforms and a few changes to the food and beverage offer. Buffet here of sausages, bacon & eggs with pastries, toast and fruit and other breakfast goodies. The team are very friendly and we have a VS rep in the lounge as is the norm these days at MAN (a grounded cabin crew member because she is expecting)

So all in all a good start to Friday. Now here's to a good flight and hopefully a certain FSM who has been working my last couple of flights and he Is a star.

Happy Friday everyone.

Jon

You're sounding to be well looked after in MAN, maybe no CH but the nice touches at check in and having a VS rep in the lounge are hopefully getting your trip off to a great start .... have a great flight / weekend!

Have a good flight Jon. Good to hear that VS are looking after you in T2 at MAN.

Interesting that they are using the old Delta Escape Lounge on what I am guessing is a fairly quiet Friday at MAN (i.e. no school hols etc). That said, it keeps the VS passengers all in one lounge so makes sense. I'm unsure about the breakfast buffet - think I would prefer cooked to order off the menu as before (free with an UC boarding pass). Of course, there is no telling exactly how cooked to order the food actually was, as bacon & sausage (& even full breakfasts) appeared very quickly!

Have a great long weekend in NYC. I could think of far worse places to go for a long weekend!

Absolutely keeps everyone in one place. It was the first day of the new service (catering brought in house by MAG), everything all inclusive ( except Champagne) and everyone was still settling in. No food menus on the tables, but not sure if they are in the other Escape lounge and certainly in this smaller lounge nothing to order. Pancakes were sadly missing, along with cheeses and meats and toast...but they did say nothing was set in stone and toast seems a big one to miss, so my guess is that it will be back.

I did ask what was different in this smaller lounge to the other one....the smaller lounge is promoted as EscapePlus, the other one might be too so don't hold me in that and was told local craft beers (which were available) and a better spirit range (though did see the gin was beefeater)...

It would be interesting to see how the set up works in the larger lounge and when things settle down after a couple of weeks what the final offer looks like.

Thank you and everyone for your comments. Sadly, the flight was disappointing.

I'll post a TR over the next couple of days as I have already provided feedback. I love VS and really enjoy flying with them every month, but when they are like they were yesterday, I do wonder why I bother. Stand by for an underwhelming experience.
