I have already flown on the A343 but never got the chance to be on the A346 yet. For those of you who have flown both planes, which one do you think is quieter. The A343 already has a legendary reputation for being one of the quietest but I hear the 346 is even quieter.

The A346 is the top of its game and is probably the flagship carrier of VS now.

when the A346 launched it had the following painted down the side:

"Longer, Larger, Farther, Faster, Higher, Quieter, Smoother"

as evidenced here

so I guess Airbus confirm it is quieter too!

Well, the statement from Airbus themselves is:

The A330/A340 Family is known for having the Òquietest cabin in the skyÓ. When the ultra-long range A340-600 arrived, with more powerful engines than earlier versions, the challenge of how to maintain the peace in the cabin was solved innovatively: by inserting shock-mounts behind every interior panel, an industry first.

Ironically, the picture of the SQ-looking reclining seat on that page is taken from a B744 upper deck, if you look at the window shape and window surrounds.

A346 PE cabin is quieter than a A343:D Not so many people complaining!!:D:D

Seriously though A346 is very quiet up front, apart from take-off, which is very quick. Those Rollers (engines) are very powerful for size of plane.:)
