You will have read about the trials and tribulations of my getting my gold card but disaster struck Maison honey lamb again this morning
To put it into context my son, who was silver, had accompanied me on all my trips this year bar one. He was therefore 10 tier points short of getting gold and the tool on the VS website told him he needed 10 by the end of July and 20 by the end of August/ September. We had no trips planned. Impossible? Not quite! Son had enlisted for the Virgin Swingers (where he is doing very nicely, thank you very much) and had discovered that for every golf round played at a VS destination overseas he would get 2 bonus points which would be converted to tier points and doubled if he were among the top three players to win bonus points that month. Therefore honey lamb was hauled around five of Disney’s courses during our recent jaunt to Orlando and as a result he was awarded 20 tier points which meant that gold was his! Or was it?
This morning at work I received a call from him incandescent with rage as only 16 year olds can be. My gold card had arrived but for him was a red card and a letter welcoming him to the Flying Club! Of course mother had to sort it out. Having been pointed in the right direction by LRoM I sought to speak to a supervisor who unfortunately was off duty but the lady answering the phone undertook to help me. Unfortunately just as she was explaining that for some unfathomable reason he had two accounts the connection broke down and as she had not given her name I had to start from scratch. This time again we got as far as the two accounts one of which had no activity and was being cancelled and the lady mentioned it had been set up on-line. I realised immediately what had happened. When we were trying to set up his account on-line it seemed to go into a loop and never completed so I called the Flying Club who had no trace of it on-line and set up the account he was using. It had obviously left a footprint and into that footprint, when I asked them to check, the tier points had been added. She later called back to confirm that the accounts had been merged and now the honey lamb household basks in a golden glow!
