This trip was the return leg home of a quick 4 week business trip to Bangalore and just happened to coincide with the last day of the triple miles promotion. I wonder how that happened! [}:)]

I arrived in BOM on the Jet Airways flight from BLR which was as usual a perfect hopper flight.

After making the slightly painful transfer from the domestic to the international terminal and having my bag x-rayed and taped shut I headed to UC check-in. As usual there were no queues and the staff were incredibly friendly. Check-in complete I was escorted to the lounge. Now it seems that since I was last flew out of BOM in December, a number of things have changed and there is a new lounge. Personally I dont care much for it, but I thankfully didnt have long to wait before we were called for boarding.

Boarding was quick thanks to us not being collected from the lounge until the rest of the passengers were on-board. I took my usual seat (3A) and requested a sleep-suit. I do not see why they arent handed out by default on day flights. They are just so comfortable and it prevented my shirt from getting creased (which is good as I didnt have time between arriving home and a dinner reservation to get changed).

Push-back was delayed around a hour as the ATC decided to change the runways how can changing the take off and landing runways possibly take an hour!?! After we got going the amenity kits were distributed and I was surprised to see the return of the cufflinks probably for the best as just about every suitcase, bag and laptop case has an Upper Class tag on it now!

The flight over was uneventful. I had some lunch (I forget the specifics salad and the chicken pie perhaps?) followed by a drink at the bar just before getting the seat turned into a bed. I awoke a few hours later feeling extremely hot under the duvet and went in search of a drink or two at the bar where I spoke to a couple of other passengers.

Back to bed for an hours doze before being woken for afternoon tea. This was the first time I have used the flexibility of the freedom menu as I was feeling hungry and opted for the sandwich as well as the sausage roll from the light bites list. The food was reasonable however it was let down by the tea All was rectified with an espresso before seats up, a change from the sleep suit and an easy approach into London with the usual holding over north London.

We arrived into a gate which felt like it was in Tunbridge Wells such was the distance to the baggage reclaim and just after customs the limo was ready to take me home to deposit bags before meeting friends for dinner.

A great flight hindered only by the delay at Mumbai. Next flight easter weekend back to Mumbai and I am looking forward to it

Thanks for the TR, Ongen. [y]

It is nice to get reports from less common destinations. This one is the first this year from BOM.

I like the idea of being escorted to and from the lounge. The last time I saw it was at LHR when a guy who looked like and ageing rock star (and was probably quite famous [:w]) was escorted from check-in to the Clubhouse

Funny you should mention that honey lamb - It did feel a little like that. As my next trip is likely to be a long one I was also planning on taking my guitar with me! When I fly back via BOM I will make sure I am wearing the leather jacket and sunglasses through the terminal lol.
