sorry, not slagging off zinc in general, but one of my fellow directors had a bad experience at the ocean terminal branch...

ocean terminal does not get the 'hoi polloi' of edinburgh through it's doors, as it is really a Brent Cross style shopping mall...

Just found this,

I'll probably be up there around the same time for my annual pilgrimage, if so I'll meet up with you all. As for eating, Malmaison is fun, Zinc I've always found pretty poor, the place to go is Valvona & Crolla http://www.valvonacrolla.co.uk/html/caffebarmain.html, up Leith Walk. Famous around the world and rightly so. I challege anyone to eat there and then not buy anything from the Deli on the way out. My favourite is along leisurely boozy lunch, a wonderful way to spend a few hours during the festival.

Ah yes, I know that place well. They're even one of the official Fringe venues, proving that you can put a show on just about anywhere in Edinburgh during August :)

Lol!

You gotta be joking!

I'm using my Qantas (bronze!) freuqent flyer for these flights - i have no status whatsoever!

doh!

GREAT! With your bronze Qantas card (bronze? what's that about??) and my blue BA card we'll go far.

I'm keeping a close eye on the ba97.com travel calendar which is run by a regular on the BA board. if two silvers/golds end up at LHR near our flight time we might pretend to be die hard BA flyers and wangle our way in. This is what desperation leads to! ;)

I am English - honest!

So why the Qantas card and not BA? Hmm? Not convinced!! :)

Those of you who attended the Post Christmas Party a year ago will remember we were entertained by the comedy piano duo, Katzenjammer.

Now it turns out that the boys are doing two shows at The Brunton Theatre in Musselburgh on the 18th & 19th August.

I'm throwing this out there as a suggestion for one of our activities.

On the positive side, we know them, so they're a 'safe bet' (and they're a knockout live act). We can also probably work out a group discount, but Musselburgh is about 7 miles from the centre of Edinburgh, so either bus or taxis required. The show starts at 7.30pm and finishes about 9.30pm (with an interval).

Over to the floor to discuss...

Oooh I'd love to see Katzenjammer again, they were fab. Sure something can be worked on the travel front.

Thanks,
Richard

The Katzenjammer boys get our vote every time. [y][y]

If tickets aren't a problem, and the venue can cope with an invasion of V-Flyers, then it sounds a great plan. :D:D

Ok, depending on who's up for it, I can check out the group discount.

A show of hands for the 19th, please ;)

(I'll keep a list of those wanting tickets on the first post)
