Arrived in good time – I was originally scheduled to fly back to LCY at 07:30, but decided to change to the 12:20 into LHR…:D
T5 at ARN was virtually deserted, having checked in online and using the new-fangled iphone boarding pass, I wizzed through security and in to the BA lounge.
Really quite a nice lounge at ARN – big and airy. Usual drinks and snacks on offer – quite relaxing actually.
Flight delayed by 10 minutes or so (which of course turned into a reality of 30 minutes delay), but no big deal really, and boarded to be welcomed very enthusiastically by the percer that reminded me of someone – unfortunately, I still haven’t worked out who, but definitely reminded me of someone.
Anyway, got comfortable in my seat, 4D, and relaxed.
This was an airbus back to LHR, and the club Europe offering on that plane is definitely more roomy than on the Embrear I taken out. So, the Airbus had a nicer cabin, but it wasn’t so much fun as they really fly on rails those things.
Altogether a very smooth flight. Cabin crew very cheerful and efficient – the meal was really good. A chicken curry that I really enjoyed; the other offering was some sort of fish concoction that really didn’t appeal to me, and was definitely aimed at the Sweedish passengers.
Not a great deal to say – very pleasant flight, good crew (not as aesthetically pleasing as most VS crew, but good all the same), good food and a totally uneventful and relaxing trip home.
My limited experience of BA over the last couple of years definitely gives me the impression of an airline upping it’s game again, knowing it has competition, and delivering good, if not sparkling, service.
Much more of this, and I’ll be bronze on BA – with my AG with VS likely to expire next year and unlikely to renew…..well, we’ll see.
