After a quick and uneventful flight from Tampa to Atlanta on DL2372, it was time to do the marathon walk/tram ride from the B gates to the F gates. Making it with a little time to spare before boarding I watched the crew load the plane.

Right on time boarding began and as we were Zone 1, in Economy Comfort, we were quickly on the plane. As usual on Delta there was some jockeying for overhead space as two gentleman brought their rolling bags and their computer bags and had quickly filled 2 compartments (this is my pet peeve!). No worries though and soon everyone was on board, as the doors closed there was only 1 seat free in Economy Comfort.

This was my second time in Delta's Economy Comfort section, let me begin that it is nothing compared to Virgin's PE and I was very much missing being in that PE seat, but it is worth the extra since a Business Class ticket was not an option. The seats do recline more, are a little wider, and a little more comfortable. The food and crew is the same for this and the regular Economy section, but EC gets served first. :)

The drink cart was brought through the aisle quickly followed by the meals. It was a choice between Chicken with rice, a vegetarian pasta or a cold chicken salad. This came with a small salad, cheese and cracker, a roll and a brownie. The food was alright, nothing spectacular. I was pleased that the gin on board was Bombay :D , which was a much nicer offer than Gordon's (what it used to be I think).

My biggest issue with Delta on this route is that their is no individual entertainment system, movies are shown on screens overhead and at the front of the cabin. There were three problems with this, 1. you couldn't choose what you wanted to watch v( , 2. the screen was often blocked by people standing or walking ?| and 3. the flickering light acted like a strobe when I was trying to sleep :(! .

I will say that the flight passed rather quickly and I did manage to get a little bit of sleep, not much but a little is better than none. :X

We landed almost an hour early at Manchester but there was an issue with the luggage system and no open gates. We ended up waiting on the tarmac until they could get approval for us to go to a "hard gate" and be bused into the terminal. The Captain gave regular announcements as to what was going on, which was nice. ^)

Finally we were in line for immigration, which wasn't terrible for a change, and our baggage was waiting for us on the belt. Soon we were through and greeting the smiling faces of friends there to pick us up for a fabulous week in the UK! :X :X ^) ^) ^)

As I'm only Silver with Delta I didn't expect any special recognition, and none was given. Not sure what Delta's normal policies are with their Mileage levels.
