We checked in with no problems and after saying a few good byes headed to security. It was actually a very quick trip through security and we were soon through to the Duty Free shopping. Being held back by my much more responsible Mother who mentioned that as we already had a suitcase full of chocolates for our friends at home I probable didn't need to buy anymore, I think you can always use more chocolate but that's me.
A coffee and some breakfast while we waited it was soon time to board. We heaeded to the gate, which the lovely check in agent had written down as it was not up on the screen just yet. And actually soon after boarding began. Since we were in Economy Comfort we were zone 1, right after business class and platinum and gold sky miles members.
Once on board we found our seats only to see the overhead locker being taken up by one gentleman who seemed to have brought all his belongings on board. As the other lockers near us were also full already (and regular boarding had only just begun!) I asked him if he could put his briefcase in standing up, rather than on its side and he said "no"

Economy Comfort was full, as was the rest of the plane it appeared, but boarding went fairly quickly and we were soon pushing back.
It wasn't long after take off that the drink cart came around. There was a bit of a shock when we were informed there was no more gin on board!

Next came the meal service. A choice of a hot chicken dish, a vegetarian pasta or a cold chicken salad. I opted for the hot chicken dish which came with a sweet potato mash, garden salad, cheese and cracker and a sort of chocolate chip brownie thing that was very hard. The chicken was very good and the cheese was lovely. Mom choose the cold chicken salad, which was a good choice and declared very tasty. It came with fruit, cheese and cracker and the brownie thing.
Drinks were topped up, wine again as I mourned the absence of gin.
Again the entertainment was on the overhead screens,

Water was brought around at regular intervals, and the crew was fairly friendly.
There was an issue with the toilets, the lavatory nearest Economy Comfort was on the left hand side of the plane and the people sitting in the first row refused to let anyone cross in front of them so we had to go all the way to the back of the plane for the toilets. Just an annoying little thing as those tended to be very busy.
Finally we were nearing Atlanta and an "afternoon snack" was served. I can only describe it as tinned tomatoes and pieces of cheese wrapped in semi cooked pizza type dough. There was no flavor to it at all other than tinned tomatoes, they used to serve a lovely slice of pizza that was just right for the end of the flight, this thing was in edible and after a few bites put down. It was served with a small up of ice cream, vanilla with chocolate sauce and that was nice and quickly eaten to get rid of the tinned tomatoes taste.
Soon we were landing in Atlanta and waiting on the tarmac as there was a lot of traffic going in and out of the airport.
It was my quickest time through immigration and customs as well, I must say that is one of the reasons I prefer going in and out through Atlanta immigration and customs is organized, easy to navigate and quick!
Then we headed off to the B gates for our return flight to Tampa, where the Captain cam out to talk to the passengers before the flight because there were some possible weather issues and she wanted to keep up apprised of what was going on! Everything was on time and we were soon home in St Pete to plan the next trip!
