Having checked in on line and with only hand baggage we headed straight through fast track security, through security and off to the Blue Lounge. Better than last time - a lot less busy as no strikes today and a fairly decent range of snacks and drinks.

Flight never came up as "go to gate" just straight "boarding" which was a bit annoying as the UK gates are a good 10 minute brisk walk from the lounge. It was then the almost obligatory bus to the plane and boarding. No drunk people on the return flight, so boarding completed on time. We were on one of the A320 with fixed seats, so in Club Europe exactly the same "space" as in EuroTraveller, just an empty seat in between.

Once in the air, hot towels and landing cards came round. Dinner was then offered - the usual pre-dinner drinks ditched on this flight! Options were prawn curry or chicken salad. Opted for curry, which was very tasty! No bread rolls offered until after main course finished as they weren't heated when food service started! Were told "drinks will be served in a moment" - in reality this meant all Club passengers had to be served food BEFORE the drinks trolley was bought out. It was ok, as the cabin services director was making sure that the cockpit crew had drinks! In the end I had finished my whole meal and given my tray back before drinks were served!! Rather odd way of serving Club passengers - having a meal without even water!! This is a decent length flight and there were only four rows of club - no reason to do service in this manner!

After drinks the crew then were behind the curtain in the front galley 'occasionally' popping out to see if anyone wanted anything (or alternatively to take drinks down to people in EuroTraveller) - otherwise they were chatting away / eating in the galley!

Landed early and luckily had a club only bus from plane to immigration.

Overall a rather disappointing flight compared to the outbound flight. Maybe next time I should bring my own water / drinks?

Thanks for the TR. It's great to see that someone else finds those seats objectionable. As for the club only bus, I guess it's necessary to maintain the priority disembarking for club pax since it'll defeat the purpose if everyone was herded into the same bus.
