Jet Blue 18 June CLT-BOS

Many Jet Blue tix are $49, the seats are leather, comfortable, legroom wherever you sit, seatback tv and they offer water, beverage and starchy snacks at no cost.
Back to Logan on Tuesday to a: deliver a small dog to Columbia and b: attend a conference in Charlotte. Dog's seat (under the seat in front of me) cost $50 more than mine which seemed a bit harsh but he did not have to be in his carry case until on plane which was kind. We were moved up to 2A with extra extra leg room and no seat mate (understandably) but I paid for this on return flight. 16D (0ver wing) full flight and no seat mate once again. Doors start to close--but halt to allow very, very large woman to be take her seat--next to me. The FA did try to reseat her but not very creatively. They attached an extra seatbelt extension for her and she took a deep sigh as she was totally crammed into her seat for two hours--and so was I. If there had been an emergency disembarkment--I would have had to go down with the ship. It was a loooong trip for both of us, no indication from flight crew that they had any empathy for the reality that I had paid for a whole seat but given just half of one.
Still--it must have been far worse for my seatmate as I think it was also her first flight (I showed her how to unbuckle the seatbelt) and she must have been miserable. I indicated on landing that she could stand first as she was on the aisle but she waited until it was obvious, so we were among the mast off. It was still raining, walked to overflow economy parking which is just beyond TE so passed through VS gates which were just checking in pax for the 7:45...
cheers,
RR
