I was originally scheduled to leave Dublin on the 5th, but I decided to leave a day earlier and managed to get a free date change which was the first flight out that day. I was staying at the Ritz-Carlton Powerscourt in County Wicklow. It's a bit of a drive from the hotel to the airport so I had to leave at 5 for my 7:50 flight. Got to the airport a few minutes after 6. Check in took a while at the Club Europe desk as there was a couple at the desk and they were taking forever to check in. Eventually, the economy queue emptied and we were called over to check in there.

Was through fast track security in a matter of minutes and up the lift into the bmi lounge. Stayed there till boarding was called. I didn't have anything to eat or drink because my body did not consider itself to be awake just yet, but there was the usual selection of biscuits and drinks available and I think there was wifi too.

Boarding involved a short walk across the tarmac from the terminal building to the plane and up the steps into the plane. The flight was short. The breakfast was atrocious, but that’s to be expected. Landed at Terminal 1 and was in baggage claim very quickly but had to wait a few minutes for the bags to come out. Got the bags and was out at the taxi rank soon afterwards.

The flight was actually quite full, I guess that with 5 flights a day, I didn’t expect such a turn out, but I guess it was just a bunch of us lawyers returning from the conference.

I'm pretty sure Paris is closer to London than Dublin.

I think it's Paris too. The flight is just over 1 hour and I remember lunch on that flight being a salad. There probably wasn't time for much else.
