O/T - apologies, but I had a feling one of you techie people might know about this....

Colleague of mine has automatic updates on her pc - she's on XP (and is also no dummy) - on prompting, she downloaded IE7 - and her pc totally screwed up. She tried all she could think of, including a system restore, but the pc totally refused to respond.

Eventually, she contacted the MSN helpdesk (against her much better judgement) to be told that it was a recognised problem with downloading IE7 is your ISP is BT - BT ha, apparently, not made the necessary changes/adjustments its end. She did get it resolved, but it involved createing a recovery disk. So - my question (eventually) - is - any of you know what's going on with BT? I'm also with them and keep getting prompted to d/load IE7, but am shying right away from it at present...

Ta in advance for any light you can shed ....[:p]

Not sure how the provider of your DSL service could have an impact on IE7 installing or not - unless it's their proxy server that wasn't updated/screwing things up... [:?]

I believe that was just what MSN told her - that BR hasn't updated their server. Or BT even ;)

Wonder why yours is ok then Paul?
