So I can play Chess against little Billie in seat 55K, how about a Poker Tournie with fellow flyers. I couldn't think of a better way for time to fly!

Does anyone have any clues as to whether this is something V are going to offer. Especially as they have the Virgin Poker up and running?

Definately a [y] from me!

Now there's an idea I could go with. Rather than the looney idea taking shape, I could go for 8-10 hours of a proper Hold'em tourney onboard.

Now, I really have started thinking about this in all seriousness. Taking the possible legal issues of gambling onboard aside for now, and looking to our resident pit boss for assistance, maybe we could set up some on-line tourneys with smaller buy-ins that ultimately lead to say 20 UCS tourney 'suites' and a final on-board.

Now, if we can't get the final on-board, maybe the destination could be Vegas and the final could be in Vegas.

Does this idea hold any water? I am a member of an online hold'em forum if you want to get serious numbers involved.

one problem with having a tourney on board is...who pays for the flights? there is a max number of people allowed in the bar area at any one time,so that kind of limits the numbers..

However,an online tourney may work..have to do some head scratching and talk to the wife, see what she thinks.

Well I thought maybe the rake, or part of the buy in. For example (and Dave sorry if I am teaching you to suck eggs as I am sure you know far more about this than me), you get 1000 people to buy in for say £10, this itself raises £10k (enough for 2-4 UCS) trouble is now we have no pay-out! Maybe the UCS seats are the pay-out!?

Needs some more thought, but it could work. If the on-board thing was to work you could limit the table size on-board to say 4 or 6 people. Again needs more thought.

The problem would be getting the 1000 people to buy in for it,unless it was on the Virgin Casino website,in which case we couldn't play because the site wont let us.

Why wont the site let you play?

I have the contacts, and some online software, just need to work on the detail

I believe US users are blocked from registering so that US gaming laws are not broken.

That would be correct, while Pete and I figured out a way for me to be able to play on it,it just ended up being to much of a PITA when there are so many other sites that will happily let me play poker on them.

I feel for you on this. there are so many US sites I am blocked from using as a non us citizen. Their loss ultimately as I place my business elsewhere.

BTW, whats with the 'REV' Dave? You been ordained? Will you marry me?:D:D Can you buy this (you must have heard to Vegas stories!) or did you actually go to Uni or College or Church or something to become 'qualified':D:D You know I am only joking with you, but I am seriously interested.

Well not wanting to go off topic [ii]

A couple of years ago friends of ours got married by a friend that went on the net and got ordained.

Well I was chatting with friends who were about to get married and this topic came up and well after a couple of beers I offered to get ordained and marry them.

So of I go to http://www.ulc.org ,fill out the paperwork and bobs your uncle im the Rev. Dave [:0]

There were a couple of reasons for picking this one.

Firstly it's free [y]

Second and more importantly was the fact that it has only 2 tenets

to promote freedom of religion and to do that which is right.

I think we need to split this topic off, as now I have so many questions for you.

First one is, where are you legally entitled to marry someone?
