Sorry if its in wrong place!

Am i right in thinking that we earn 750 miles per order NOT per case? If so does that mean that i will get 750 miles whether i spend £5 or £500 ?

Thanks in advance :D

Correct,

It's per order. 1,000 for your first order, 750 for every subsequent one.

You will normally struggle to find an option of £5 orders on V.wines, though - the minimum order is a case of 12/13 or a "gift pack" of 3 for around £30-40.

Further details are found here.

Virgin wines is ok, but I have to say they pester customers far to regularly with telephone calls begging for more orders, it gets annoying sometimes.

If you go on to your account details and select communication preferences and make sure you tick the box saying no to special offers and stuff.

Alternatively, change your phone number on there to one that dont work! :D:D:D

Have to agree about the telesales very annoying[V], although if you need some wine when they call a little haggling will get the carrage free and an extra bottle;)they also keep trying to charge me for some wine club case ever 1/4 despite several emails and phone calls telling them to cancel.Good job I removed my credit card details from the system.

When I used to deal with Virgin Wines and wanted a 'few' cases I would ring up my 'personal wine advisor' (aka telesales operative) and ask them If I order multiple cases of wine on one delivery charge, would they give me 750 points per case. This was never a problem as they are desperate to sell wine.

I suggest you give it a go. Nothing ventured, nothing gained etc, etc.

Mark.

I ordered 2 cases Tuesday night [:$], I'm just waiting for the points to hit hubby's account so I can get on and book the reward flights. I'm not so good at being patient...esp when there are only 12 days left to book at the currrent redemption rates!! [:(]

Hi Jacq

Give Virgin wines a call, 0870 164 9593 (customer service) explain your situation and they may be able to have the miles added manually.

Just a suggestion, hope it helps [y]

cheers

Cool, will do! Thanks for that, Trev [8D]

Just on the phone trying to get my reward flights put on hold - they told me they could do that and put them on hold for 48 hours as soon as I pressed the 'transfer' button on AMEX. Just done that so then I'll get on the case (no pun intended ! [:o)]) with Virgin Wines.

Cheers!

Eek! Just called Virgin Wines and they said it could take 'a few weeks' for the miles to hit the FC account - aaaahhhhh! [:(!]

They also told me they are unable to enter anything manually and that it's actually Virgin Atlantic who manage it all; they just send the details to them. Guess who I'm now on the phone to?! [n]

Hi Jacq

Below is an email i received from Virgin wines only yesterday, i think someone is leading me/you up the garden path :D
*********************************************************************

Dear Trevor,

Thank you for contacting Virgin Wines.

I am delighted to hear that you have received your last couple of orders in good time, and I hope you are enjoying the wines as I write this.

With reference to the air miles it can take up to 2 weeks after your order for Virgin Atlantic to apply these as they only get generated through once a week. Please do not worry about this for the time being, but if you have not received them within the next 2-3 weeks on your Flying Club statement, then please do not hesitate to contact us again and we will happily have the points added manually.

I hope you find this suitable, and please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further queries.

Kind regards and many thanks.

Hmm, having just spent about half an hour on hold (good job I called the 01293 number!), I was a bit miffed to be told there was nothing they could do. The guy however (Luke) was very helpful and even tried to ask if they could let hubby's account go overdrawn on miles while we waited for them to credit. No can do on that score.

So I have til Sunday for it all to straighten out so not likely [:#]

Looks like the only way to guarantee the trip is go Econ out and PE back [:?]. Or I could be really mean and go PE both ways on my miles and send hubby half and half [B)]. Two weeks for those Virgin Wines miles will take us into the new spending brackets and we've scraped and scrounged and overspent as it is just to get him up to 62,500 miles. [xx(]

Never mind, I'm sure it'll all come good in the end!
