Afraid I'm way behind the times. Still wearing Ralph Lauren dress shirts (with the little polo player), Nordstrom chinos and Cole Haan loafers five days a week. Been doing so since our office switched to "business casual" years ago.

My only tip of the hat to wearing youthful clothes is Old Navy (a branch of The Gap), whose T-shirts, shorts and miscellaenous other items are well-made and will last.

Not "behind the times" ChuckC-it's now known as 'retro-chic' or 'vintage'.Makes you non-sheep like and non-conformist (not the religous type)in the eyes of others.

Hi,

I have a great A&F hooded top, which I picked up in LA a number of years ago. It's huge and my wife calls if my flying top, as I love to wear it for travelling, especially overnight flights as you can just pull up the hood and snooze away.

Unfortunately I cannot wear it out in the UK for fear of being thrown out of certain shopping centres [:?]

Anyway if FC are opening UK stores then thats that, as every man and his dog will have the stuff soon! Maybe that will put FC out of business :D

As for the FCUK thing, I have seen a number of people around recently in copy versions that actually say the word that they are avoiding, (if you see what I mean) but are done in the same style [V]

My mum took one look at the holes in the raised collar of my A+F zip up beige jersey (THAT I LOVE :D) and told me to be carefull what I popped it in the tumble dryer with [:w]

She went a bit [:I] when my 17 year old sister explained it to her that I bought it like that!

(Like I would ever tumble dry it anyway!!! [:0])

DragonLady,

LOL. Hmmm. "Retro chic" and "vintage", eh? Do you mean such as the appellation one confers upon a fine wine? Or perhaps a well-tuned albeit older piano? I'm rather liking this newfound "status" you've provided for me, I must confess![8D] With appropriate modesty, of course.[:p]

If you saw my clothes closet, the most modish garb in there would probably be a Michael Kors shirt that has rhinestone type buttons. Toyed with taking it to London for my last trip, as I figured I'd be a shoe-in to be noticed as someone truly "hip". Thought better of it when I realized I'm twice the age of most guys who'd wear that shirt (aw, heck, I'm three times their age!).

Much appreciate the compliment nevertheless.

Absolutely Chuck- fine wines and expensive old pianos.Much nicer than brand new stuff! Not sure about the Michael Kors rhinestones though- sounds a little wild.On the other hand you're "a long time dead" so go for it and give the 'young uns' a run for their money

I have one only A&F sweatshirt and that just about fits!
they make their clothing for the snug side and that's not good on my body!

I am an old bugger who when visiting the States, goes to Van Huesen first for shirts, polos and trousers, then on to the doscount jeans shop for my black Wranglers and Dockers, then onto Timberland and Bass for shoes jackets etc...
Man of standard simples tastes me [:p]
