I had over 40,000 miles with the Flying Club that expired in 2003, do Virgin ever have any 'redeem' expired miles offers like AA do?

New to the forum and found it so helpful! Thanks!

Hi, nickjj78, and welcome to the V-Flyer Forum. We're delighted to have you with us.

If your Flying Club miles expired over two years ago I think it highly unlikely that you would be able to recapture them. You may want to send an e-mail to FC. Contact information is available on the Virgin Atlantic website.

If our site is helpful to you, please take a look at the member link below and consider becoming a member to help keep V-Flyer your source of information on everything Virgin Atlantic.

Thanks, and again, welcome aboard.

Hello nickjj78 and welcome to V-Flyer.

I've never heard of the scheme you mention that AA do in relation to expired mileage? Sounds interesting.

I don't think VS would re-instate your lost mileage unfortunately. The expiry of mileage helps airlines to control the total liability their frequent flyer scheme represents, from an accounting perspective, as far as I know.

Thanks, I'll give it a go!

AA were running a promotion up to the end of Dec 2005 to re-activate expired miles. Haven't flown Virgin for about 5 years but booked UC MAN-MCO flights and v. much looking forward to trying out the new suite.

Thanks for joining up as a full member and contributing to the site [y].

Unfortunately VS have not announced a similar scheme to that AA one, at least not within the past few years.

You have lots to look forward to with your upcoming MAN-MCO flight! Have a look in the trip reports section for reports on that route, and take a look at LGW-MCO too, as that route uses the same configuration of aircraft.

VS did not re-activate my miles but were very nice about it (excellent service from customer services) and now starting again with basic red...

Your upcoming PE return (as referenced on another thread) will earn you 6 tier points, so only another 9 needed within a year to get yourself to Silver. Easy! :)
