Don't be so mean boys -let the poor woman regain her dignity. She'll be traumatised by this for a long time otherwise!Chavette? Not a sniff of Burberry or a leisure suit in sight- Chav(ette)s don't "do" two wheels (can't get baseball caps big enough to go on top of helmets and not enough room on the bodywork for all the Maxpower stickers/rubbish).Right noise level for them though.

Blimey, this thread seems to have turned into 'Dating Direct' or maybe that should just be 'Flirting Direct' ;-)

Nice pic though Jacq ;-)

Has anyone tried the virgin limo bike transfer to the airport before. I have booked one for tomorrow to take me from Canary Wharf to LHR in rush hour and they reckon they can get me to the airport in 40 mins as opposed to the 1.5 hours it usually takes in a car at that time of day!

Sorry I know this is a bit late but 40 mins is a bit hopeful in my experience. I have travelled this route to LHR on the Limobike about half a dozen times and it's more like 50 minutes. Still undoubtedly much more swift than any other mode of transport. I'd be interested in your findings!

When I travel alone, as long as I'm travelling light, the Limo Bike service is always my preferred option, whether or not I travel Virgin. At the very least it wakes you up after a red eye ;-)

On the downside, I have found I often have to book up well in advance, and they don't do weekends or very early mornings (eg, LHR pickup for the VS SYD/HKG flight).

Silly Question, but what if you've got a big suitcase?

I'd bike it to Paddington and then HEX it! gonna be a tad quicker, but saves you whizzing down the M4 or even worse the M25 on the back of the bike!! arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Just got back from Cape Town this morning and did the limo bike both to LHR last Wednesday and from LHR to my office this morning.

I have to say it is AWESOME - there is no other way to travel quickly around London in my opinion . . . . i absolutely loved it and now cannot understand why I havent used it in the last 8 years!!

They can take luggage but not lots obviously - there are 2 side compartments for small pieces of hand luggage and they can strap a small cabin friendly suitcase onto the back of the bike behind the seat.

The drivers were great on both journeys and on the way to LHR from Canary Wharf it took about 50 mins and the way back this morning 40 mins (I particularly liked zooming passed the hugh 4 mile traffic jam on the M4).

It definately gets a big [y] from me!

So did you hang onto the rails or the rider's love handles? ;)

You have to be sensible if course. The maximum I have taken is a substantial (but flexible) suit carrier with a standard overhead bin sized rollaboard on the bike. Be prepared for an attack of the bungy cords.

My Limobike timings to LHR are:

GF's place in Chiswick it's 15 minutes
My place in South Ken it's 25 minutes
City 35-40 minutes
and Canary Wharf we concur on 50.

From Canary Wharf I have had to give up in a car on a couple of occasions, and take the DLR/tube, both times on the Friday of the start of the Autumn half term.
