About the artificial eye, I think that there is a small hole in the tooth with an artificial lens inside. I am not sure how the visual signals are then transferred to the optic nerve and to the brain - this must involve the tooth somehow. I believe the image is blurred but this can be corrected somwhat with glasses. Its enough for her to get about on her own and read large text so she can work.

My eyes are generally brown, but whenever I see some signatures with loads of pending trips round the globe (especially mcuth's!) in UCS, they go a very distinct green with envy!

Oh I wish mine were trips around the globe - they're not though, it's more or less just the list of upcoming social events :)

Cheers

Hey wouldn't it be cool to get red contact lenses with a 'V' in the middle? or is that taking this Virgin-love thing a step too far? ;)

Nope. But it is pioneering work and very few people in the world can see this way. I wouldn't make something like that up. The lady concerned is a client of mine so I'm not mentioning her name, but her story has been in the national press and on TV in the past year so if you google for artificial sight you might turn something up.

The charity I work for is called Action for Blind People URL http://www.actionforblindpeople.org.uk

Best wishes

[?][?][?]Hmmm... I knew they were two tone, but it's hard to describe, Brownie blue around the outside and greenie something on the inside... Ms PVGSLF loves them anyway... Particularly when they have that "devil look"!

Fortunately I'm on a safe bet when i try to remember what Ms P's eye colour is... Brown eyes, black hair and all that! (Sailor will know what i mean ;))

Actually Paul, I'm sure I've either read an article or seen something on TV about it.[y]

Totally! I need to be able to look right into a person's eyes to know how they are feeling...windows to the soul and all that. It's like when you tell someone you love em, you have to be looking right into their eyes (and blinking's a no-go either, instant lie indicator!).

Ooh dear, all a bit soft and fluffy for this early of a morning [:I] Sorry!

Perhaps, but it would certainly freak a few people out - cheap entertainment ;)
