I am sorry if this has already been asked but I can't find it.

Both of my daughters have 12500 miles each. If I booked a companion flight for them can I use their miles together and book a return flight for them to share rather than two one-way flights?

Hope this makes sense :)

Hi,

Yes, you will be fine, you can split rewards and/or go 50/50 on the cost. So you would need to book an L, B or Y fare, and then 20,000 miles (10k from each account) and you would get a companion seat in Economy - there would need to be avaialbility in T class (economy reward fare class).

Only small matter then is the argument of whom gets the revenue ticket and earns the miles nad tier points.... :)

Thanks,
Richard

Thanks

So I could also buy miles for them to take their balance to 15000 miles and go PE?

I tried calling VA to ask them the other day and gave up waiting on hold after 10 minutes.

You could do yes, they would each need to contribute 15k though (as its then 50/50).

You would then need to get an S or W PE fare, and avail in U for the comapnion. Porbably the best companion fare there is, I booked an S and U for my father next week and his business chum, cheaper than buying two lowest avail Economy fares.

Thanks,
Richard
