Hi homerdog, and welcome [y]

Yes, you do - you earn miles on the fare class you PAID for, not the extra ones for the class you travelled in.

Thanks for the quick reply!

I thought as much; just noticed that I haven't been credited any miles for the flight I took in January.

Ah, the known issue ;)

The system sometimes doesn't recognise the original flight after upgrading it with miles. One quick call to FC can solve it [y]

Thanks, on the phone now, let's hope I can get through! ;)

Just been told that using miles for upgrades doesn't qualify for miles! [:(]

What was the ORIGINAL ticket, homerdog? Do you know the fare code that it was issued as?

Thats wrong, as long as you paid for your base upgradeable ticket (generally in L B or Y in econ or S or W in PE) then you earn the base miles from the fare paid.

VS obviously not have a good night tonight

I suppose there is a chance that it was an N class fare, and VS let the OP upgrade on the day with miles???

Remember that if the flight was in January and was an L, B or Y you should have recieved 125% of base miles.

It was a full fare (not sure which class). I spoke to the FC again and this time they agreed that I should have received the miles - they've now been credited to my account. :)

FamilyMan - was there a bonus miles offer on in January? If so, sounds like I will have to get back on the phone!

It's a good job I asked the question on here though (thanks everyone!), otherwise I'd have been none the wiser when I was told I didn't qualify [:(!]
