Was heading from Nashville to Phoenix anyway, with idea to pop up to Vegas for a few nights.
Had planned a few nights in Phoenix first - however after looking around the different flight options/costings, it was considerably cheaper to goto Vegas first. However, on dates available/required, it was cheaper to fly via somewhere to get to Vegas, than flying direct. After looking around - found that it was even cheaper to do it as a "Vacations Package" through US Airways than it was booking the seperates (4 nights @ Wynn + rtn flights PHX, under $500pp[^])
End result? the 2 rtn flights are with AmericanWest (I got to pick my choice from several available AWA flights on the PHX-LAS route)...

Is it still possible to earn FC miles? The package wasnt broken down into flights & hotel seperates, was priced as an all in deal... whilst same offer through expedia allowed me to pick my own flights (with any airline, whilst CO via IAH was appealing for miles, AWA were still the only direct option available) & enter FC number , but was £50-£60($100)dearer for exact same package[:(!].

Booking the exact same flights seperately would have cost $99pp+tax each way & would allow me to enter FC number (so about $440 worth.. making my 4 nights @ the Wynn very economic[8D]) - but booking this way, entering FC number wasnt an option. Given my savings I dont care too much about the FC miles - the extra cost of booking through expedia didnt warrant the amount of miles that could be earned - having booked through US Airways - am I (or should I ) be entitled to them[?]

If it's an HP (America West) flight number, flying on HP metal, then yes - you're entitled to the miles.

The only thing is, given all the recent changes, whether it'll be classed as both of those requirements now. Do you have your confirmation? (Is it a US flight or an HP flight number?)

You might want to ring America West/US airways and add you FF number into the booking that way. Remember, it depends on the booking class if you will actually earn miles with a partner. When on the phone with them, why not ask what booking class its booked into?
