Hi all,

Two questions for those who know everything VS!:

1) If you need to book a qualifying economy flight and then upgrade to G with miles, should you phone Upper Reservations, FC Red or the Premier Team?

2) and as a follow up...how far will a CDC car in the States get you? We're flying into MIA and want to get to Tampa (and back again) - will my 2 x 10k miles get us that far or am I really pushing my luck?!

Thanks very much,

Neil

VS - Ground Transfer Info

I bet Miami to Tampa would be ok and is a good value for miles.

(The person in the 'Chauffeur Driven Car Service' banner image looks interesting....[:?])

Have just looked at the VS Ground Transfer Info webpage. Does anyone know why they don't make the CDC service available to passangers travelling to / from Manchester? (Especially as the UC fares to MCO & other routes served by both MAN & LGW are broadly similar). If you fly from Gatwick on a full fare ticket, you get a proper Clubhouse & the CDC service. At Manchester you get... err... significantly less.

1) Not sure of the answer to that but I'm sure no-one will shout at you for calling the wrong number

2) I have booked a CDC car from MCO to Tampa no problem. I think it is available to any address in Florida from MIA or MCO

I wonder if it's a genuine oversight? Remember, Upper Class is a relatively new thing for Manchester.

I know that from addresses in the North West, they will drive you to Manchester for a connecting flight down to Heathrow/Gatwick, if that's where your first VS Upper sector starts.

VS' chauffeur contractor, Tristar, also has a base in Manchester, so I'd be surprised if they can't. Sounds like a phonecall to VS is in order. If you're calling about anything to do with cars, I'd suggest calling Upper Class reservations.

Cheers!

I think I will do just that - I am only after a ride from Manchester to Derbyshire on my return leg [which I will pay for with 10k miles]. Given that if I was flying from/to Gatwick they would be prepared to transport me from there to Derbyshire for 10k miles per leg, I would hope this will work.

Does anyone have the UC Reservations number? I phoned the FC Red number to upgrade from PE to UC and stupidly forgot to write down the phone number [& extension number] of the young lady who dealt with my booking upgrade. [n] (And yes, she did give the "if you have any queries about your booking, please call me" line).

I would hope it is an oversight but I suggest another train of thought......

Most routes ex-MAN are B&S routes and assuming most of the UCS bookings are made via VH, the traveler would not be entitled to the limo transfer so maybe there is not the need for the limos up north.

Thanks for the info guys - I tried FC Red in the end and was put straight through to UC reservations - it's got to be said that I was really impressed with the guy who helped me, but then when he's dealing with the top end of VS clients, I guess you'd expect him to be good!:D

Cheers,

Neil
