Hi. I've been told by several friends that some VS flights that fly out of EWR or JFK and that go to LHR are pretty empty. I was wondering if anyone knew which routes and times are particularly empty or have lots of room in the economy cabin. Thanks!

I don't think there's any real trend. For example, I've flown on many VS018 flights in the morning and once it was a little empty, perhaps 60% full, but other times it was overbooked.

The last two times I flew to LHR were out of JFK and EWR. Both flights were full (VS4 and VS2). Last two flights flown out of LHR to LAX (VS7) were both full, and the most recent one was a 744. That said, if you are seeking less full aircraft I would pick a midweek departure.

You just have to use common sense and think not school holidays, not public holidays, not when big events are on, weather, and mid week.

Same principle for most destinations

VS9 was 50% yesterdey - the front half of the Y cabin was empty, the rear full ... guess they did that for weight and balance reasons.

Flights on Tuesday & Wednesday are relative empty. Sunday/Monday are busier after a long weekend in NYC/London and Thursday,Friday & Saturday are busier as folks start a long weekend.
