Does this mean that G-VFIT is the first a/c to have the new Y and PE seats installed right through

So does the remote get removed from the seat back for use, or will the seat be prodded and poked a lot by the person behind? [:(]

I expect it can be removed from the seat back. Might be a bit hard to play games whith it otherwise??

From pictures it looks like the same removable V:Port controller, just located in a different position.

G-VFIT definitely has the new seats in Y (as does G-VWIN). AFAIK the new W seats are being launched in July although I stand to be corrected.

The v:port controllers can be removed from the seatback stowage.

I too wouldn't mind seeing a couple pics of the cabin filled with the new seats. Any chance someone can take a pic if they get lucky enough to be on one of the aircraft?

Now that G-VEIL has been refitted, is the remote in the new location on this plane as well?

I gather that they will have. IF they refit an aircraft then they might as well get the consistancy in the fleet. something which Y and W need i think. J, Now thats near on perfect :D

Cheers,

Is it me being silly, but if they were not removable from the seat back, we wouldn't be able to call them remote controls, we would have to call them fixed controls.

Thank goodness the designers put the removable remote controls in the seat back and not on the arm rests. The amount of accidental call bells that I have to answer due to the low arm rest location is ridiculous. I've flown on both G-VFIT and G-VWIN and they are much better. The seat also reclines differently. The seat base also moves foward and tilts slightly up under the kness with the recline, very comfortable in my opinion.

I may be wrong but I can't imagine that they retrofit the entire fleet with these new style seats, that would be a HUGE cost to the company. There are still numerous aircraft knocking around with the old Nova, Odyssey and Arcadia style entertainment and seats. All Priorities in my opinion.

Just look at how much thicker the seat looks. I love the new style seats, and the back looks less shiny plastic.
