Am I right in thinking if I book a miles plus money flight then I can pay £50 extra and get a "revenue fare" which will earn me miles and tier points? That seems to be what the small print says but I just wanted it confirmed.

thanks

Yep,in some cases that is true,it is very rare for a M+M fare to be a good deal.

Hi vLover, and welcome [y]

Just to check, are you asking if you can buy (upfront) a ticket for £50 more than an MPM one? In which case, yes, often you can.

If, however, you're asking if you can "upgrade" a Miles + Money ticket to a full revenue one for £50, I believe (although stand to be corrected) that you cannot.

In the T&C on the VS website. Number 22 says Upgrades to revenue fares can be made at a charge of GBP 50.

The way I read that, it means you can change to a revenue ticket for an admin fee of £50. You will also have to pay the excess, which will be the difference between the M+M ticket and the revenue ticket.

Is that how others read it?

Hmmm. Yes, I'd read it that it's £50 PLUS the difference in fare. I can't believe they'd let that through otherwise [:0]

The Miles Plus Money fare can be changed for £50 to another Miles Plus money date/flight, subject to availability, (and the minimum and maximum stay adhered to)

If you upgrade to a 'revenue' fare you would pay the £50 change/upgraded fee PLUS the difference in fare.

(If for any reason that fare was lower.... you would not receive anything back in return, as the original fare is non-refundable)
