I know this is almost a rhetorical question but...

I am due to fly on VS015 to MCO on 14th Aug ( Monday[:0]) on four PE reward tickets. Today ( 11th) VS015 was delayed from 12:30 to 21:30 and VS016 back shows similar delays.

Is there any way VS can get VS015 to reduce this delay by the 14th ??.
I know nothing of how VS scheduling works but assume VS015/16 just does a round trip and can therefore only make up a couple of hours each trip at most.

The thought of keeping my two 5 year old twins amused for 9+ hours at the airport ( followd by 9+hours on a plane without their hand luggage games etc. ) is [:$]

The alternative is to try to rearrange my flight to the VS005 Miami on the 14th from heathrow ( and waste my non refundable Parking / hilton res for the night before). Hire a car from MIA and drive to MCO to pick up my prepaid hire car.

VS005 ( only 2 hr delay today) is showing 4 person reward availability in both upper and PE on the 14th ( and at least paying the upgrade in miles for upper would lessen the blow). However I don't really want to bother VS with this sort of request, as they are probably overloaded with problems, unless I am certain it will provide significant benefit. I have no idea if VS would agree to the change anyway due to the circumstances.

P.S. Apologies for the spelling and grammar but several bottles of wine are helping me analyse the situation[:p]

Under normal circumstances I would say its entirely possible that by the next day the MCO flights could be operating to schedule, even after such a lengthy delay.... aircraft can be switched, sometimes they'll be going into maintenance so the knock on isn't affected....

But in current circumstances most flights are being delayed... though usually just by an hour or so.

I think you've got as good a chance as anyone of getting on the plane in reasonable time.

Check http://www.virgin-atlantic.com for the flight status.

I think by Monday most of the problems will have been ironed out and we should be back to something like normal operations.

Thanks very much Ben. I appreciate you taking time to answer.[y]

Checking on the site for flight times and options this morning I noticed they released 4 UC reward seats on my flight out[:0]

One quick phone call and suddenly the wait doesn't seem such a problem:D

Thanks again
