Apologies if this question has been asked before....

We are travelling UC Manchester to Orlando with a one year old, I noticed on the manchester airport website that access to the escape lounge is for children aged 8 years and older does that mean we will not be able to gain access or have Virgin made special arrangements??

Thanks any help appreciated.

You do not get lounge access with a PE ticket. You can purchase lounge access at MAN but it will probably in one of the Servisair lounge's, which aren't that great, but better than the Terminal if you want to get away.

Given the delays that are happening at the moment can anyone suggest a lounge airside?

You can pay to enter the following lounges in T2 at MAN:

The Escape Lounge
Servisair Exec Lounge

Details on the Escape lounge here (no children under 8 aloud in though when paying to enter)
