I'm flying LAX-SIN in a few weeks on SIA. I can either fly the quick flight (direct) or the 'old' flight via Tokyo.

If I fly direct, its 5 TPs. But, if I fly via Tokyo without breaking my journey (the old 'direct' flight) does that make it 2 sectors & 10 TPs?

Cheers

If both flights have the same flight number then I think that makes it a single sector (with one stop) for the purposes of tier points. So if you're talking about the SQ11 then since it's the same plane and flight number you'd only get 5 TPs. Of course, if you connected somewhere (e.g. TPE) onto a different flight number then it would count as 2 sectors.
