I don't think anyone thinks the majority of CC are poor, but the tiny minority has now become a significant minority. You only need two CC in UC who are below par to affect the whole flight. It seems to spread throughout a crew, unless there is a CSD who really leads from the front and keeps an eye on things. I don't know if the CSD's workload has gone up, but on my last two flights they were conspicuous by their absence.

This is where any issues begin and end! If the FSM ( CSD) is on the ball and doing their job properly then all the issues discussed above and elsewhere on VF will get resolved. This person should be taking the standards set by the company - greeting Gold and UC pax, having enough staff on at service times, scheduling breaks, etc etc etc - and impliment them. Its where the "buck" stops on every flight!!

In our business our Catering Managers determine how the job is run and what the staff do, say and how they respond based upon the standards that we set as a business. If they are not on the money then our service suffers - its the same with the FSM's on each flight!!

So - if all the FSM's work to the same standard - and we know that this can be really good - then there would not be a problem!!
