Silver Membership Benefits

Full of excitment that I am about to reach Silver, but knowing that it gives you little of any real benefit, I went to the VS website to check the benefits anyway.... What did a get?

Oh well, I suppose Silver is better than Red in the game of hoping for an Op-Up.

As has been said many times, the key benefit of Silver membership is the ability to use the PE check-in when travelling in "Y". If you regularly travel in PE or UC then there is not much benefit in having Silver over Red; you do earn a few more miles though

Reached Silver this year and now have a shorter distance to Gold. That's the benefit for me!

As Bazz has already said, this is an frequently discussed topic. For me avoiding the huge LHR / LGW Y check in queues made Silver worthwhile having.

With OLCI / bag drops now seemingly running okay..... the extra miles are the tangible benefit.
