Been a long time since posting on here lol, but I guess thats because since my last VS trip, i hadnt planned on going anywhere.

Now however, Ive decided on NY and I am now planning the trip.

Of course, I am naturally going VS, however, im in several decisions about what flighst to take and a few other tad bits.

Firstly, I want to fly on an a346 and a 747. Thats possible, Ive noticed that both the 45/46 and the 03/04 offer this.

However, what flight do you reckon would be a better choice. Also, what meals are served on both.

Recommendations and help welcomed here.

Also, my debit card will expire before I travel. Will this cause any problems?

[:?] 45/46 offer a better chance of a 747, 03/04 a better chance of am 346 by my reading here but in both the likelihood is for the same type both out and back..

Depends on what class and when you're flying.

Not sure. If it's a non refundable ticket, I doubt it. If it is refundable, I'd hve thought there's some small print to cover it.

I like VS10 from JFK, arriving at LHR just late enough to make sure you don't hit the morning rush hour.

For my return to JFK I like VS9, this time arriving towards the end of the evening rush hour(s). It leaves LHR at a sensible hour too, giving you ample opportunity to relax prior to boarding. There's nothing worse than being rushed before the flight!

The food will obviously depend on your class of travel, but economy will definitely be lighter on VS10 for the redeye. I do not recall exactly what they offered, but it was a light meal and some form of breakfast sandwich in the morning.

VS are currently changing alot of aircraft use for the winter.... quite a few of the JFK and EWR flights are switching between A346s and 744s.. DEL is getting an A346 as is CPT, JNB going to 744... so unforutnately alot of the historical info is likely to be wrong.

Probably best to try dummy bookings on va.com and check the Equipment.. as far as I'm aware they've all been chaged in the system now.

Gof for the VS003 outbound - I love it:D. Do you have a particular airport you want to fly from returning?

Thanks Ben, that was a useful tip-off[y]

Just discovered that my VS1/2 in November has changed from a 744 to 346[n]. No quiet upper deck for me now! Still, at least it's showing as Config 2 so should end up with Vport.

Well I was planning to take JFK both ways for convienience, Id be flying economy so no clubhouse for me :-( (one day...) If EWR is just as convienient and can offer the aircraft type id prefer (not a 343) id be happy to use EWR.

Thanks for the advice people,

Kev.

VS001/002 is almost always a 744, the one time I flew it and it was not a 744 it was a 346, and you don't seem to mind if it's either.
