I recently travelled on VS1 on a PE 'S' class ticket and upgraded to UCS with miles at the airport. On return home I checked my statement online and saw the deduction of 20,00 miles which I expected. However there was no mileage or tier points for this flight under my PE ticket[?]
I tried to claim the missing miles online but was unable to do this(there was no record of my flight!)

I then decided to ring FC but can't ring 0870 numbers from Bermuda! I am back in the UK in 3 weeks time, guess I can call FC then?

Do any V-Flyers have any other suggestions as with my limited brain capacity I have run out of ideas[:p]

Ring VS FC on their US number, or whichever one is closer?

Known bug, I'm afraid.

Will require a call to Flying Club, on the usual number when you return - they can sort it out while you're on the phone [y]

Amanda just email them explaining the same as above.

I've had to do this a couple of times and miles have been added within a couple of days.

I guess the system isn't able to deal with the debit/credit side of things;)

I have wondered though, it's probably cheaper for me to call the US number than the UK 0870 number. Does it go through to the same people?

When I needed to contact VS while I was in Sydney and the Sydney office was closed I made contact with VS in the UK thanks to the Say No to 0870 website. It put me through to Head Office in Crawley and then I requested to be put through to the department I needed.

I e-mailed FC with a similar query when my miles-upgraded seats showed as 'U' class on my e-ticket (a class which usually means a reward or companion ticket). I was concerned that miles would not be credited.

According to the really helpful lady at FC, the system cannot recognise miles-upgraded seats and there is a requirement to phone FC after your flight so that they can add your miles manually.

Just a thought! It's a shame that the FC system doesn't credit you the miles and tp's first,then you have to ring them to get the miles you used from your account to upgrade, deducted?[:p][:p]

Guess I wouldn't be so desperate to contact them then[}:)]

You should be able to request online via your account sign in to collect the paid for miles before upgrade....

edited to add: after your date of travel, of course....

Nope, sorry Juliet - that method doesn't work.

As I said before - "known bug", it requires manual intervention from the FC team to add them, the online system won't even recognise that you travelled on the PNR you entered if you upgraded using miles.

I am still amazed, the not getting your miles when you upgrade problem has existed for at least 2 years.

Just to let you know, after e-mailing my query to customer services, I had a nice reply from them, apologizing for the delay in replying (2 days- I thought that was pretty quick actually!) and crediting my the miles and TPs to my FC account[y]
