Not when you adjust for the exchange rate. At USD 1.873 per GBP, $20,000 spend would generate...

25,000 FC miles on Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card
21,356 FC miles on MBNA Black

Likewise, if you use an American Express Rewards Plus Gold card to purchase a VS ticket through the American Express website you will earn 2.5 miles per USD, which is better than 4 miles per GBP. For example a $3,500 Upper Class return would generate 8,750 FC Miles in the USA, but only 7,475 FC Miles in the UK.

In any event, if MNBA were to offer a USA version of this card I think it's reasonable to assume they would follow the pattern set by the BA card and most other cards, $1 = 1 mile.

It may have changed since last I checked, but the Capital One can not be used for upgrades only full rewards. So if you are like me where you like to stretch your miles by purchasing a PE and Upgrading with miles, I do not believe this can be done.
