LHR T1 to T3

Hi Everyone!

I tried to search but no luck, we are flying down from MAN to LHR to catch a Virgin flight to JFK on Friday. I know my ticket BMI will check straight through, but my partners is on two seperate tickets so they might not!
My question is if they do check it though do we go through the connections centre at LHR and does that avoid a lot of the security checks or will we still have to go through all those again?

Also if they will not issue her boarding pass I assume we have to go to the Virgin checkin desk at LHR and there is not somewhere in the connections centre that will issue her boarding pass?

There is a VS seperate transfer desk once you enter T3 after passing though the flight connection centre.

To be honest, it's quicker to NOT check you bags though from your BMI flight to your VS flight. The flight connection centre (FCC) can be a real nightmare to get though.

It's actually quicker and a lot easier just to check you bags in at MAN with BMI just down to LHR (which your partner will have to do anyway as she is on seperate tickets so BMI will not check her bags though to the VS flight). Collect your bags at T1 and then make you way to T3 to check in for your VS flight.

If you do through-check your bags it will mean you will go though the FCC and your partner will have to collect her bags and make her own way to T3 check-in.
