Can anyone advise on whether one can alter a reward flight booking (presuming there is T class availability on the newly desired dates) and if so whether there would be a charge for doing so?

Many thanks!

Yes you can change as long as there is availability in the award booking class and the fee is GBP25/USD50 plus a V-Flyer membership!

Last bit a joke but is there a better way to start the new year!

As an extension to the topic what about an upgraded ticket? Are the change rules the same as the underlying ticket?

I think they would be, though I can't find anything specific to this in the T&C's. It stands to reason that the restrictions of the original ticket still stand. But the T&C's do say:

"Once reward tickets are issued, you may make a change to your travel date, route or class of service for an amendment fee of £25 or US$50, R100.00, 1,500 rupees, ´4000, HK$300, 325RMB." - where 'reward' isn't defined as being a flight paid for solely on miles.

The Companion ticket section is clear though, and section 4.2.1 states it is free : "..where the reward is a companion ticket and the person travelling on the paying ticket changes his or her flight or class of travel. In these circumstances, the companion ticket may be similarly amended, subject to availability of seats and other conditions laid down by Virgin Atlantic."

Thanks,

David.
