Source in Dutch I am afraid:

Basically says that Branson is in NZ celebrating the 3rd birthday of Pacific Blue.

The NZ goverment is looking for an airline partner to take a large shareholding in Air NZ. Branson says "the door is open" about whether he is interested in taking a stake. The NZ government is currently the majority shareholder of Air NZ.

Interesting times. SQ abandoned attempts of gaining ownership of ANZ several years ago. Wonder whether they are involved this time. [:?]

Isn't that a bit ironic as ANZ tried to buy a stake in DJ a while back...

But, an excellent move for enhanced round the world travel. We know SRB wants that on his ticket ... and the airlines are pretty complimentary in routes, for example ANZ flies to Tokyo, Shanghai and Hong Kong in Asia, LA and SFO in America as well as Sydney - offering a number of attractive connections.

SRB has been down under a while, he must be trying out the new boat to as many places as he can. Or putting together a big deal.

Afraid on a.net the article was proved to have its wires somewhat crossed.

I believe if you go onto TVNZ website or a.net you can read the real article in full.

Basically SRB was talking about DJ entering the domestic market with the new jungle jets. The NZ government being keen to allow DJ into the market, or something along those lines.
