A quick question on milage deductions.
How long does it take for your account to update when you have used miles to upgrade flights? A 'friend' of mine used her miles 10 days ago but they are still showing in the account. When she check online she can pick seats and meals etc so the booking has gone through.

Thanks

Its normally pretty instant. Ive upgraded myself at check-in to see the miles have been taken when i log into my account in the Clubhouse.

Was the upgrade processed in the UK or not?

Thanks,
Sarah

Yes mine definitely went through on the day

However I think they go through when the flight is ticketed - i.e. when the e ticket is issued so if that hasn't come yet then the miles won't have been deducted.

I always thought that miles were deducted at the point of requesting an upgrade.

Airport upgrade mileage gets posted within minutes and any upgrades completed by Flying Club are post dated for the future date of travel.

It may be a case that your friend has recieved a freebie which would be a result....:D

In my experience miles used for upgrade were deducted the day of travel, even though it took several days for the miles flown to be credited!

Cheers
