Aircraft Switch 31/01/07

Just checked my seat for my flight (VS003) to JFK next Wednesday and found that the flight is now being operated by a A343 instead of the original A346. Nothing strange there I hear you say.
However, seeing that BA are probably going on strike I found it an odd decision. I did a dummy booking in J and W and the flight is completly full and not taking bookings (I confirmed this on expert flyer).
Surly with the prospect of a BA strike VS should be trying to maximise their availability.

It may well be that VS just do not have an A346 available to operate this flight, and it is needed elsewhere on a once a day route that is very busy. With NYC having a number of flights a day I imagine that VS will be able to cover any potential BA extras without too much problem between all their flights.
