i have just recieved an email from virgin demanding an extra £100 from me for apd for my familys orlando trip next week(2/2). i am totally disgusted with virgin for doing this !
i booked & paid for my tickets last april so as far as i was concerned one less bill to pay.
on the email it says virgin thinks passengers shouldnt be out of pocket & offer £20 discount on the next flight. if they dont agree with me being out of pocket then pay it themselves!!!!
the apd is a tax on the airline NOT the passenger so dont pass it on to me.
i own a small hotel in blackpool and if someone books with me the price i quote is the price they pay, i dont say to them gas prices have gone up you must pay me £'s extra to cover my gas bill!!!

i have used virgin atlantic twice a year for 6 years and the loyalty i have shown hasnt been repayed.

so dissapointed
so digusted
so annoyed
so skint (now)

I've received the email too in respect of our forthcoming Dubai trip. Tried using both links they provide to make the payment and neither work....not a good start VS [n]

Much as I sympathise, Terry, we already have a couple of threads running about APD, so to prevent lots of discussions going on about the same subject I would ask that you post to this thread about APD.

I will lock this one for neatness.

Just to clarify one thing, in case others use this thread to form assumptions:

Air PASSENGER duty is EXACTLY that - a tax on the passenger, NOT the airline. Sorry - the assumption you made is incorrect.
