New PE seats?

We have the choice of travelling in PE either -

a) from LAX-LHR on VS008 or VS024 (airbus A340-600)
or
b) from LAS-LHR on VS044 (747-400)

Which would you recommend? Will both planes/routes have the new PE seats?

We would be travelling this July.

I would think your chances of getting new seats on the LAS route are slim to none.

You also need to be aware that LAS-LGW is the route, not LHR.

Only the VS008/024 will have a chance of having the new PE seats.

The LGW fleet should be getting them in '08

I would go via LAX just due to the new seating and V:port

With regards to the VS008/24 - what is the chance of getting the new seats? Slim or likely?

By July most of the A346's will have the new PE so you should have a very good chance.

This thread has the info of which a/c currently have the new PE seats and is updated as the re fits are being done.

VS7/8 will be operated by a 744 during the summer season. I would book the VS23/24 as I would doubt that the 744 new config/PE seating re-fit would have started by then.

VS23/24 is a year round A346 route, as Neil says all A346's should be re-fitted by July...

We are using the VS007 on 29th June and were concerned about which aircraft we would be on.

We received this reply from a VS crew member on this forum.

The VS007/008 changes to the 747-400 on March 25th. From June 1st it changes back to the 340-600

I would choose the VS008... If it is an airbus your stand a good chance of the new seats.
If it is a 747 then grab a PE seat upstairs. The best way to fly PE .... IMHO.

Whichever flight you choose, have a good time and don't forget the TR.
