HKG-LHR MFU at airport

I want to book a return flight to HKG for April and need to upgrade the return leg (B class) from Y-> UC but there is no availabilty in G class. Has anyone successfully upgraded using their Flying Club miles at HKG Int'l airport on the day of departure? Just want to know what my chances are before I go ahead and book (I know this is a very popular route). Thanks.

I use the HKG route a fair bit and in my experience you'll be lucky. Upper loads are very rarely less than 80-90% and G's are like gold dust. Revenue might open some a week before, it's never happened on my travel dates though.
