According to this article, sources at Virgin America confirmed that it is already making plans to target Ryanair in services across the atlantic (for more info on that see this thread. Quite an interesting development if it goes anywhere. VX says it's looking at the A330, A350, and 787 as possible aircraft to handle the job.

There was a small piece in the Sunday Times today about Ryanair - it will be amazing if transatlatic fares are ever £6!!! ( plus taxes of course which by the time Ryan Air get the service going are likely to be £500!!)

What better way to prove (almost) severed ties with VS than going into cometition with the carrier;)

Actually I just read an article with VX saying the report wasn't true, so I don't know if it'll happen or not, but then again there's always a chance.

Would not be surprised to learn that someone confused VX with VS. That's likely to happen alot, particularly if VS increases Europe-US flight frequency and VX adds internal-US destinations. A happy coincidence indeed!
