Hello Everybody!

First off, what a wonderful site - not crawling honestly!

Last November I had a pretty rough introduction to VS. An economy rtn to BGI was, to say the least, shoddy. It took hours to clear way the trays, one drink run – before the meal and a less than cooperative entertainment system. The crew seemed more interested in the village cricket team sitting in the cheap seats in front of PE than much else. The return journey wasn’t much better, though they did have the excuse of a totally paralytic ‘gentleman’ wandering up and down the isle looking for his bed! Until he was handcuffed to his seat…

Anyway, to cut a long story short, I vowed never to fly VS again. Then I stumbled across this site and the oh so tempting prices in PE to Barbados in November. So I relented

Now, finally, to my question . Is it worth making the effort to get an AG membership? I’ll be making the trip to Barbados again in the April and one to NY in June. If I do these in PE then I’d get promoted. But is it really worth it, or is it AU that brings the real benefits? I know it’s not a huge amount to upgrade.

This might seem like a dumb question, but then again…

Thanks

Welcome to the site Daharris!

Funnily I vowed never to fly VS again after some bad flights in Y but then they did some stupidly cheap PE flights and I was hooked... a slippery slope I warn you.

Is Ag worth it? That's a tough call if you plan to fly PE as apart from the extra miles I believe the only real benefit is PE check in when flying Economy. Perhaps best to let one of our Ags provide their perspective...

Welcome to V-Flyer daharris [y]

Yes and no, is my answer. No, if you continue to fly PE, as the only real benefit(mentioned by Decker)is the PE check when flying in Y.Yes,if you continue to fly Y, for the same reason.

However, being Ag is better than Red. You never know when it might get you to the top of the list in terms of op-ups.

Previously as a Red card holder, I mainly flew PE. Now I am a Ag and I've been lucky enough to fly UC, so my status has been of no real benefit to me in these instances.

I think you need to think about the class of travel you will be travelling in the future to help make your decision. I must warn you though, once you get to Ag,the devil on your shoulder will be trying to persuade you to reach Au, but that's another story.......

Hope this helps :D

I'm just considering Ag part of the journey to Au. Not enough stand alone advantages to stay Ag....
