VS030 waited ages on landing-why?

Morning Everyone

It'a all a bit early but I am hoping that one of you whizzers can answer my question.

My taxi driver is going to be later to arrive at our house this morning because the passengers she's collecting from the above flight at LGW have been stuck on the tarmac for a fair while as there wasn't a stand available. Any one know why please?

I think it is a fairly common thing in the morning rush for planes to be held up. First of all, they are stacked waiting for a landing slot, Then, once they have landed they have to wait for a gate to become available - or they are dumped on a remote stand, and the pax are bussed to the terminal. [n][n]

I accept, that this is more common at LHR than LGW, but it all boils down to the fact that both LGW and Heathslow are too busy.
