I didn't think so, but his messages are still on all the brochures.

Technically yes, as Virgin Holidays is a subsidiary of Virgin Atlantic, and Branson is the major shareholder in Virgin Group, which holds 51% of Virgin Atlantic.

I dont think he's really ever had much to do with the running of V Hols though. OK so V Hols was originally set up to just sell VS seats but they have since evolved into a more or less seperate holiday package company now.

After the first time I'd been on a V Hols package and the very same thing happened to me with the hotel having no record of us when we arrived, I wrote to SRB at Virgin head office and the response just came back from V Hols customer relations.

I know if anything goes pearshaped with the flight and you complain you always get a rather smug "actually Virgin Hols is a completely different company" so tuff type of reply, and its a stock answer the other way around too for instance if you don't get a kiddie pack and ask for one onboard.

They call themselves totally seperate Sister Companies...confusing.

You just never know who really is a Virgin these days[}:)]

From a group/head office operational perspective, VAA certainly has a lot to do with VHols activities. They are included group decisions in terms of routes, finance etc.

Happened to us 5 years ago, didn't chase it up with VH because the hotel gave us a room after we showed them the paperwork from VH confirming our reservation.
