Review of Cowshed at LHR and IFBT

The Body and Soul Supplement in today's Times reviews the services offered in both the Heathrow Clubhouse and on board.

Seems the reviewer was a bit greedy by having both a massage and haircut during the same visit!

Interesting read! Slightly misleading for the Times reader in that the journo had two treatments in the Clubhouse and one onboard though.

The article also mentioned about how refreshing it was coming off a red-eye flight and made it sound as if it were available for arrivals. The only way that could be used is if one were transferring on to another VS flight having flown in from the US or something like the HKG

Well they would be BUT you use Revivals on returning not the Clubhouse and they have shower rooms there not steam rooms. Furthermore it is unheard of to get a haircut AND a treatment in the Clubhouse as there is more demand than supply. Normally the IFBT is given a list of people who have had treatments in the Clubhouse and they go to the bottom of the list on board.

But email is compulsory and their privacy policy is not clear.

If this was a journo doing an "official" article with the co-operation of the VS press-office, he will have been marked as a VIP/CIP for his flight, likely chaperoned throughout by someone from VS, variously fawned over, and rules generally bent.

Therefore I'd say being a journo or celeb has better benefits than Au!

I think that statement was shown to be 100% right some months ago, when Jordan and Peter Andre were in the CH at the same time as two very well known gold card holding V-Flyers. [n][V]

The celeb on my last VS flight was escorted to the aircraft from the CH at LHR and personally escorted to the head of the immigration line at JFK. During the flight CC pointedly asked her if there was anything they could do for her, etc... The same level of courtesy was not extended to the other 5 of us sitting in the bubble! To the celeb's credit though she didn't appear to expect any special treatment and stayed in her seat for the entire flight.

I sat next to a VA CC member on my flight to Las Vegas and there is a team of people who look after the VIPs on the ground, which was a job she wanted to do, which would also make sense why some of the Flying Club hosts I spoke to at the Solent Challenge also were interested in doing the hospitality work.
